Preacher's Desk is a tool for keeping a sermon library, preaching log, calendar and travel plans. This page explains what information it handles and who else touches it. It is written to be plain and accurate to how the app actually works.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and a password (stored only as a one-way hash by our authentication provider).
- What you enter: sermons, preaching log entries, calendar entries, travel plans, locations, notes, and your app settings and preferences.
- Files you attach: for a sermon you can attach a link to a file stored elsewhere, such as in Dropbox or Google Drive (an outline, slides). We keep only the file's name and link, never the file itself.
- Feedback you send: the message, category, your email and an optional reply-to address.
- Beta invitation requests: if you ask for an invitation, the name, email address, state, how often you preach and how you organize your sermons that you enter in the request form. We use these only to decide on invitations, and keep them while the beta runs. You don't need an account to send one, and you can ask for yours to be removed.
The app itself runs no advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't sell your information. Each account's data is kept separate from every other account's. The public information site (preachersdesk.com) counts visits and page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't follow anyone from site to site.
Who else handles it
- Supabase hosts the database and sign-in system (US region) where your account and data are stored.
- Vercel hosts the website and the information site, and provides its cookieless visit counts.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that sign-in, sign-up and invitation requests come from a person, and receives basic browser and network details to do so.
- An email provider sends account emails (such as your confirmation link), and Resend delivers feedback and invitation-request notifications to the site's administrator, and invitation emails to people who are approved.
- Dropbox only comes into it if you choose to attach a file with the “From Dropbox” button: Dropbox's own file chooser opens in your browser, and we learn only about the files you pick. We never see your Dropbox password, and can't see anything else in your account. Anyone with a Dropbox link you attach can open that file, as with any Dropbox share link.
- BuyMeACoffee and PayPal only come into it if you use the support buttons on the information site. The BuyMeACoffee button loads a script from BuyMeACoffee, and each opens in its own tab under that company's own privacy policy.
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim is sent the place names you enter (for example a preaching location) to look up map coordinates for the Summary map.
Cookies and storage
The app uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in, plus small browser storage for display preferences and offline support (saved app files so it can load without a connection). There are no tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Your data stays until you delete it. Items you move to the trash are permanently removed after 30 days. If you delete your account (Settings → Account), your account and all of its data are removed from the live database immediately. The site's operator also keeps a nightly backup of the whole database in a private cloud storage account; each backup is deleted after 30 days, so a copy of your data can remain in older backups for up to that long after you delete it.
Your choices
- Export: Settings → Account → Export all my data downloads everything as one Excel workbook or a ZIP of CSV files, and each page's Import / Export button exports just that section.
- Delete: Settings → Account → Delete account removes everything.
- Questions or requests: write to hello@preachersdesk.com, or the Feedback option in the account menu while signed in.
Children
This app is not intended for children under 13.
